Immigration Consequences/Post-conviction relief

ARE YOU AN IMMIGRANT FACING CRIMINAL CHARGES?

If you are currently facing criminal charges and your immigrant status is not finalized, uncertain or in limbo please see me now.

Now is the time to discuss with me what can be done in your criminal matter to minimize the impact it can have on your immigration matters.

Certain crimes and sentences can automatically disqualify you from certain immigration relief or related status or benefits. Some crimes and sentences depending on your status can subject you to immediate deportation proceedings!

What you may not know, however, is that through successful negotiations in your criminal maters many times a resolution can be reached that avoids these possible consequences. You, however, must choose the right lawyer.

Sometimes reaching a needed resolution will require creative or “outside side the box” thinking. It will require an attorney (or attorneys, in which case it may mean more money out of our pocket!) that is familiar with both immigration and criminal procedures and law. I have handled hundreds of criminal matters both as a prosecutor and a criminal defense lawyer. I am an experience and trained immigration lawyer. This dual experience and training can be at your disposal to reach a resolution in your criminal matter that minimizes its affects on your immigrations status, which sometime will only be reached through “outside the box thinking’’ which may not be at your disposal if one or both of my sort of experiences and training is missing from your dual representation. I say “dual representation” because your immigration and criminal matters are both separate matters neither of which should be ignored by you or your lawyer.

Even if your case is a “run of the mill” criminal case you should always be certain of the effects that your criminal matter will have on your legal status and only an immigration law trained lawyer can tell you this—
a short conversation me can give you long term peace of mind.

IF YOU HAVE BEEN CONVICTED OR FOUND GUILTY WE STILL MAY BE ABLE TO HELP YOU.

If, however, by the time you have read this you have already taken a plea or have been found guilty by a judge or jury and are now feeling the wrath of immigration consequences it is not too late to contact my office. Your case must be properly investigated and evaluated, as you may have possible defenses or motions that can still be raised that may allow the court to vacate your conviction. I have handled these matters in the past with success for other clients, especially those facing immigration consequences. You, however, must act now. Many if not all defenses and motions have time limitations which if invoked by the court or government in your case could bar or prevent your motion. The moment that you are in may appear dim but my training and experience may lead you to a brighter day. Call me now and I may be able to assist you.
